"Coke" is an old family name, and Coke is named for his maternal grandfather, Virgil Coke Stuart. The name "Coke" comes from the Methodist Bishop Thomas Coke, who came to the states in 1784. Bishop Coke converted some family ancestors to Methodism, and they named one of their sons Coke after him. The name has been in the family ever since.

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Coke was educated in Alabama and California. He worked in television and film, performed plays and musicals across the United States before turning his talents to Opera.
Mr. Morgan most recently appeared as the tenor in Master Class, directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge at the Maltz Jupiter Theater in Jupiter, Florida. Reviewers praised him for his “beautiful operatic voice.”
Recent operas have included Hoffmann in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Cavaradossi in Tosca in Dubai, U.A.E., Pollione in Norma, Sam in Susannah with DiCapo opera, Rigoletto (Duke), Faust (Faust), Tosca (Cavaradossi), Tales of Hoffmann (Hoffmann), Lucia di Lammermoor (Edgardo), Anna Bolena (Percy) and Idomeneo (Arbace).
Other performances are Narraboth in Salome with One World Symphony, Verdi’s Reqiuem and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Don Carlo and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.
Early in his career, he sang Don Giovanni with Opera Illinois, (under the baton of legendary Fiora Contino) and Cosi fan tutte with Fargo-Moorhead Opera. Reviewers praised him for his “wonderful voice” and his “natural and believable acting.”
In Europe he sang the Messiah in Munich Germany, and performed Luigi Boccherini's La Clementina in Tuscany. Mr. Morgan has twice sung as soloist in Carnegie Hall, his debut in 2005.
